Tank glass sections are manufactured from borosilicate glass, a heat-resistant glass composition with improved durability compared to standard glass. Borosilicate glass is chosen for vaping tank applications due to its thermal shock resistance when exposed to the heating cycles generated by coil operation. However, borosilicate glass remains susceptible to impact damage if dropped or struck.

Glass sections are produced in sizes specific to individual tank models. Critical dimensions include internal diameter, external diameter, height, and the profile shape of the glass. Standard straight glass sections and expanded bubble glass sections are available for many tank platforms, with bubble glass providing increased e-liquid capacity over the standard straight profile.

Installation of replacement glass requires partial disassembly of the tank. The top cap or base section is unscrewed, the damaged glass is removed, and the replacement is seated onto the o-ring seals that maintain a liquid-tight fit. Spare o-rings are typically included with replacement glass to ensure proper sealing after reassembly.
