New Zealand Vaping Laws 2024
Starting December 21, 2023, a new vaping law will be implemented by the Ministry of Health in New Zealand.
All of the vaping products will be affected by this law, by March 21, 2024, which includes:
- Limitation on nicotine strength
- Restriction on e-liquid flavour names
- Requirement on child safety mechanism & removable batteries (pushed back to October 1st 2024)
2023: Disposables
As of December 21, 2023, all disposables must have:
- Nicotine limit of 20mg
- Flavour names limited to two words, accurately described by generic flavour names provided by Ministry of Health
- Removable battery
- Child safety mechanism (2 simultaneous or 5 sequential actions before turning off, and automatically turn off after 10 minutes)
2024: E-Liquids
As of March 21, 2024, all e-liquids must have:
- Nicotine limit of 28.5mg
- Flavour names limited to two words, accurately described by generic flavour names provided by Ministry of Health (All of our E-Liquids have been renamed, with a reference to the old names in the flavour descriptions for easy accessibility)
2024: Vape Devices
As of October 1, 2024, all vaping devices must have:
- Removable battery
- Child safety mechanism (2 simultaneous or 5 sequential actions before turning off, and automatically turn off after 10 minutes of inactivity)
