Vape Troubleshooting Guide
Troubleshooting Your Vape Kit
If your vape isn’t functioning correctly, the guide below outlines five common issues and how to resolve them. For further support, contact our team at customerservice@vapourium.nz or call +64 3 974 8136 (Ext. 1). You can also visit a Vapourium store for in-person assistance.
1. Harsh Inhalation or Throat Irritation
- Check the nicotine strength of your E-Liquid. Higher concentrations may feel harsh, especially in lower-power or mouth-to-lung devices.
- Old or oxidised E-Liquid may become unpleasant to inhale. If the E-Liquid has changed colour, taste, or clarity, consider replacing it.
- A burnt or degraded coil can produce an unpleasant taste or dry hit. Replace the coil if uncertain.
2. No Vapour Production
- Ensure the coil is installed correctly and seated firmly. A misaligned coil may interrupt the connection between the battery and coil.
- Replace the coil if it has failed or shorted out.
- Check that the device is fully charged and powered on. Most devices turn on/off with 3–5 rapid presses of the fire button.
3. Charging Light Not Activating
- Test another charging cable and wall adaptor. Some charging issues stem from damaged cables or incompatible adaptors.
- Inspect the device’s charging port for debris or visible wear.
- Note: While many vapes support “pass-through” charging (vaping while charging), repeated use of this feature may contribute to USB port damage over time.
4. E-Liquid Spitting or Popping
- This may indicate excess liquid around the coil. Try blowing gently into the mouthpiece, then resume normal use.
- Ensure the wattage is set within the coil’s recommended range. Underrated wattage may cause oversaturation and spitting.
- If the issue continues, disassemble and clean the tank. Remove the coil before rinsing, and allow all components to dry fully before reassembly.
5. Leaking E-Liquid
- Ensure the coil is fully tightened and properly aligned. Leaks may occur if the coil is not seated correctly.
- Replace burnt or degraded coils, as they may allow liquid to seep through the wicking material.
- If using a thinner E-Liquid (high PG), consider switching to a higher VG formulation if compatible with your device.
- Inspect the tank for damage or wear. Look for deteriorated O-rings, cracks in the glass, or debris affecting seals.
If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, contact our support team or bring your device to a Vapourium store. Our staff can assist with diagnostics or device maintenance.
