CBD E-Liquid and New Zealand Law

In 2017, the New Zealand Government announced that cannabidiol (CBD) products with low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) could be prescribed by a medical practitioner without requiring Ministry of Health approval.

Can CBD E-Liquid Be Sold in New Zealand?

CBD-containing products, including those in E-Liquid format, are classified as prescription medicines under New Zealand law. They may only be legally obtained with a valid prescription from a New Zealand-registered doctor.

CBD E-Liquid is not legally available for general retail sale. Retailers may not sell CBD vape products without appropriate licensing and product approvals. This includes any E-Liquid containing cannabidiol or related cannabis-derived substances.

Will Vapourium Stock CBD E-Liquid?

Vapourium does not currently sell any CBD-containing products. If future regulatory changes allow for lawful, over-the-counter sale of CBD E-Liquid in New Zealand, this position may be reviewed in accordance with all applicable legal requirements.
