Rebuildable dripping atomisers are tankless atomiser systems with an open build deck. Users install coils and wicking material on the deck, then manually apply e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton by dripping from a bottle. RDAs require frequent re-dripping as the small e-liquid well holds limited volume. This format provides direct contact between e-liquid and coil for immediate vapour production.

Rebuildable tank atomisers combine a user-built coil deck with an enclosed tank section. E-liquid is held in the tank and feeds to the wicking material through juice flow channels. RTAs provide the customisation of rebuildable coils with the convenience of a tank reservoir, reducing the need for frequent refilling.

Rebuildable dripping tank atomisers merge characteristics of both RDAs and RTAs. The build deck is positioned in a shallow well that can hold e-liquid like a dripper, while a tank section above feeds additional liquid downward as the well depletes. RDTAs offer dripper-style performance with increased e-liquid capacity.

All rebuildable atomisers use 510 threading for compatibility with vape mods. Build decks accommodate single-coil or dual-coil configurations depending on the specific model. Common coil wire materials include Kanthal, stainless steel, nichrome, and specialty wire types. Organic cotton is the standard wicking material.
