Mechanical Mods
This collection contains mechanical mod devices available at Vapourium. Mechanical mods are unregulated vaping power sources that deliver battery voltage directly to the atomiser without electronic chipset intervention. These devices are intended for experienced users with working knowledge of battery safety and electrical principles.
Unlike regulated mods, mechanical mods contain no electronic components. The device consists of a metal tube or housing that holds a single battery cell, a manual firing switch, and a 510-threaded connection for the atomiser. When the firing switch is depressed, the electrical circuit between the battery and atomiser is completed, delivering current directly to the coil. There is no wattage adjustment, no display, and no electronic safety monitoring.
Power output from a mechanical mod is determined entirely by the battery voltage and the resistance of the installed coil. A fully charged 18650 or 21700 cell delivers approximately 4.2 volts, which decreases as the battery depletes. The user must calculate appropriate coil resistance to remain within the continuous discharge rating of their specific battery cell. Building coils below the safe resistance threshold for the installed battery risks exceeding the cell's maximum discharge capability.
Mechanical mods require the user to independently manage all safety considerations including minimum coil resistance calculation, battery amp limit awareness, regular battery condition inspection for damage or wrap degradation, and atomiser connection integrity checks. There are no automatic safety cutoffs.
Construction materials include stainless steel, copper, and brass, chosen for electrical conductivity and durability. These products are restricted to persons aged 18 years and over and are intended for users experienced with unregulated vaping hardware.
