"It's been a year since I quit my 40 year smoking addiction. I only took up vaping due to a feeling of obligation. I run a small lawn mowing business and last year one of my customers gave me an extra $100.00 and told me to buy myself a vapouriser. Maybe she noticed the wheezing? Or overheard my hacking cough. Or maybe she got a whiff of my breath during one of our conversations. Whatever the reason, her act of generosity has changed my life.
At first I smoked in the morning and took my vape to work, then smoked again when I got back home. Eventually the tobacco ran out and I said to myself "f##k it" I'll just do the vaping and see what happens. That was a year ago and I haven't had another cigarette.
What surprised me most was how easy the whole thing was. I thought that quitting after 40 years would be harder than giving up heroin. (A myth me thinks perpetuated by the tobacco companies) To be honest the whole process was relatively painless. And the benefits? Where do I start. Lung capacity? I can breath deeply again and I'm powering through the lawns. This might sound strange, but the colour has come back into my gums. I used to think that having a greyish tinge was normal. Plus my toes and fingers didn't constantly freeze last winter. A sign my circulation is finally doing it's job. I've got people telling me how good I look. Even people that don't even know me.
All and all I'm lucky to have stumbled onto vaping. I just wish it happened sooner rather than later. I'd be an extremely wealthy man. Still, at least I've got my health. "
