"I started smoking when I was in standard 4 (old school) I'm now in my 50's. I was one of those smokers who was going to give up smoking when the cigarette had to be pried out of my cold dead hands. I loved smoking and never had any intentions of giving up. That was until the government found my number. The price was too high. I could no longer justify, or afford spending the money I was each week. I was a 2 x 50g pouch a week smoker.
So I needed to find something to replace my ciggies with. Friends of mine had given up using vaping, so I thought I'd give it a go. Omg the first time I tried it, I hacked up half a lung. I was trying to vape like I smoked. Yeah...nah, it's a slightly different technique. But I stuck with it, watched a heap of youtube vids and pestered a whole lot of vapers with loads of questions. Everyone I spoke to was really encouraging and supportive. It's not always been easy, old habits die hard. I've had the odd cigarette and they taste awful to ne now. I'm not smoker, I'm a vaper and really enjoy the flavours. And if I can do it, anyone can.
I can honestly say, I'm grateful to the tobacco price hikes. My health has improved, I no longer have that annoying phlemy cough, I don't smell like an ashtray, nor does my house and the obvious benefit, I have more money in my bank account - I'm off to Sydney for a holiday."
