5 Questions Every New Vaper Asks
It's not easy to start vaping, and one of the main things that has become very apparent in in my role as a Customer Service rep at Vapourium, is how overwhelming it all seems when you first start up.
Here are 5 of the most common questions people ask before they make their first vaping purchase.
What is a good vape?
This is the first question anyone who is looking for help to purchase their first vape asks, and, as you are about to find out, there is no definitive answer.
It's completely dependant on what you're looking for from your vape, some people only want to quit smoking, and slowly wean themselves of the vape entirely.
Others want that huge cloud hit that you get from bigger, more powerful devices, and others are more interested in the techier side of vaping.
If you have friends or family who vape, try theirs.
Is there enough of a throat hit?
Enough vapour? Too much vapour?
How does it feel in your hand?
In failing having someone close by whose vape you can try. Ask yourself these question.
Why do you want to start vaping?
Are you looking for something discreet? Or are you unfazed by bigger clouds?
If you're looking for something a bit more discreet, you'll want to have a look at mouth to lung (MTL), or e-cig type vapourisers.
If you're looking for something a bit more powerful, with the same Starter Kit price tag, you're looking at something more like these Starter Kits.
You're looking through the website to find something that suits you.
Now you just have to choose something.
If you already know what kind of vape you're looking for, now it's just aesthetic. How big do you want it to be? Battery life? Colour?
What else do I need?
When buying your first Starter Kit, some new Vapers like to know they're going to be set up for a while.
Most Starter Kits come with 2 coils, and if you take care of them properly (priming, making sure your tank never runs dry..) then they should last between 2-4 weeks.
All you really NEED to get yourself up and running is e-liquid. If you purchase a Starter Kit with us, you get a $10.00 discount code to use with the Buyers Club to purchase e-liquid.
Using this code, you can either get 1 10ml for free, or get $10.00 off any e-liquid purchase on the site.
Sample Boxes are becoming increasingly popular, as they take the stress out of choosing your first e-liquids and give you a selection of e-liquids to try until you find one you like.
What is a coil?
When you look at ANY vapouriser, whether it is an RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomiser), or a Starter Kit, all contain a coil.
In your Starter Kit, your coil is what makes the whole thing work.
A heating element surrounded by compressed cotton, you e-liquid soaks into the cotton and when you hold down the fire button, power goes the the heating element vapourising the e-liquid.
As time goes by, the compressed cotton starts to degrade you may notice your tank starts to leak, or the e-liquid itself starts to taste funny. This is how you know you need to change your coil.
Most coils will last between 2-3 weeks, but this is all dependant on a number of variable factors, like, how often you're using your vape (how much e-liquid you go through), and how much nicotine is in your e-liquid.
To ensure you get the most out of each coil, we recommend you follow the instructions included in this Vaping Guide, when installing a new coil.
How do I charge it?
Unless you're buying a vape with an external battery, you can charge your Starter Kit using the micro USB to USb cord provided in the box.
There's only one catch, unless otherwise specified, you need to make sure you're plugging that charging cable into something that can only pull up to 1amp.
Using your cellphone charger can damage the cells in your vapes battery, by supply too much power (2amps).
You can check the specs on any charger by having a look at the sticker on the back, if you can't find the specs and would rather be safe than sorry you can buy a dedicated charger here, or make sure to only use a regulated device that only goes up to 1amp, like your standard laptop USB or Playstation input.
If your vape has external batteries, we strongly recommend only using a dedicated external charger.
"But it has a charging port??"
I know, but vapourisers with external batteries do not hold the same onboard surge protection that external battery chargers have.
